Victoria Rosemarie
Haverman
Jul 6, 1950 — Aug 9, 2024
Victoria Rosemarie Haverman, 74, of Granite City, IL died on Friday, August 9, 2024, at Gateway Regional Hospital in Granite City, IL. She was born on July 6, 1950, in St. Louis, MO to Anthony and Catherine (Dimas) Lecho. Vicki married Donald Haverman on July 21, 2003. He preceded her in death. She had one son from a prior marriage, Jonathan Anth, who predeceased her, and one brother, Peter Lecho, who also predeceased her. She is survived by a sister, Violet Farmer, 2 step-daughters, Cathy (Jason) Brandon and Michelle Haverman, a long-time partner and friend, Jim Ridenour, grandchildren, Olivia Hayes and Caleb Brandon, 4 nieces, Laurie (Bert) Kembitzky, Karen (Terry McNeese) Farmer, Jill Gilbert and Lisa Finke and other relatives and friends.
Vicki dealt with various challenges throughout her life, yet she rarely complained. She found joy in reading, listening to music, watching movies, eating at local restaurants, caring for Angel and Oreo, sneaking the occasional forbidden sweets and, of course, spending time with Don and later, Jim. She cherished the community of St. Elizabeth and looked forward to the care and company of Cathy and Michelle who provided unwavering love and compassion with their visits. Vicki was so proud of her son, Jonathan, and the man he became. She dealt with his passing with the same resolve that she exhibited in her daily life— she continued to live her life as fully as she could and held his memory close. May we do the same with our memories of Vicki … listen to a Beatles song, pet a cat, sneak a dessert, and remember Vicki!
