Ruth Leann Hurtado, 59, of Granite City, IL passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at her home in Granite City, IL.

She was born on August 29, 1966 in Tucumcari, NM to Bennie and Pauline (nee:  Blay) Hurtado.

The loving mother enjoyed reading.  Ruth was always helping out her neighbors by mowing their yard and doing other things for them.  She also enjoyed babysitting.  Ruth loved the outdoors and would take walks and even enjoyed gardening.

Ruth is survived by a daughter, Hailey (Geoffrey) Richmond of Granite City; 5 brothers; 2 sisters:  Elly Marez and Dottie Marcle and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Ruth is preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
