Paula Jean Zavala, 73, of Granite City, IL died on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at Evelyn's Hospice House in Creve Couer, MO.

She was born on July 13, 1950 in New Boston, OH to Paul T. Brown and Connie (Messer) Nelson.

Paula married Justo Zavala in St. Louis, MO on September 7, 1987.

The loving wife and mother was a member of the APC Church in St. Louis, MO.  She was an avid church goer who enjoyed quilting and crocheting.  Paula cherished her family and was selfless, giving to anyone in need.  She put others before herself.

Besides her husband, Paula is survived by 3 sons:  Scott (Joane) Pulliam of Granite City, Mark (Judith) Pulliam of Granite City and Shyam (Amy) Sujanani of Troy, IL; 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 2 brothers:  P.T. Brown, Jr of Baltimore, MD and Jeff Crisel of Festus, MO and a sister, Sharon (Allen) Young of Sparta, IL.

Paula is preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Pamela Knowjewski.
