Larry Ray Mitchem, 78, of Granite City, IL died on Sunday, January 8, 2023 at Christian Hospital Northeast in St. Louis, Mo.

He was born on May 4, 1944 in Wood River, IL to Kenneth Mitchem and Ella (Converse) Miller.

Larry married Joyce Elkins in Granite City, IL on January 1, 1992.

The loving husband and father was a board member of the Venice Social Club in Pontoon Beach.  He enjoyed music and playing BINGO.

Larry is survived by his wife; a daughter, Deanna Mitchem Patrick of Ohio; 2 grandchildren:  Valerie Patrick and Conner McKinney; a step daughter, Deborah Kirton of Salina, KS; a brother, Earl Dean Miller of Granite City; a sister, Norma (Gary) Gaines of Granite City and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Larry is preceded in death by 2 brothers:  Robert Mitchem and James Aaron Miller and a sister, Peggy Hodge.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at Wojstrom Funeral Home & Crematory in Granite City, IL.

The family requests no flowers but friends may make a donation to a charity of their choice.
