Joyce Ann Smith (nee Knobeloch), 77, passed from this life on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 in her home surrounded by loved ones.

Joyce was born April 19, 1946, to the late Earl and Leona Knobeloch in Granite City, Illinois. She received a Cosmetology license from Paoli Beauty School in Belleville Illinois. Joyce married her high school sweetheart, William (Willie) T. Smith, and together they established a home rooted in faith for 59 years.

Joyce will be remembered by her husband Willie; their four adult children, Steve (Lori) Smith, Joe (Maria) Smith, Carrie (Tracy) Riggins, and Mark (Bobbie) Smith; their seven grandchildren, Matthew (Christina) Smith, Nick, Ryan, Hannah (Tyler) Schrage, Rachel, Joshua, and Lydia; her three great-grandchildren, Penelope, Arabella, Sadie and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Leona Knobeloch, and two siblings Norman (Gloria) Knobeloch and Roger Knobeloch.

Joyce was a stay-at-home mom who loved decorating, listening to music, playing games, and celebrating the holidays. She was an excellent cook who always had dinner and dessert waiting on the table.

Joyce's life was fulfilled by her faith, family, and friends. She will be missed.

To honor Joyce's memory, a celebration of life will be held at Navigation Church (1205 Vandalia St. in Collinsville Illinois) on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 11:15 a.m.
