John Michael Carbone, 67, of Lebanon, IL, passed away at 6:30 p.m. Thurs. Mar. 28, 2024 at Belleville Memorial Hospital in Belleville, IL.

John was born Jan. 2, 1957 in Pekin, IL to the late John J. & Alice C. (Williams) Carbone.

On Oct. 15, 1994, he and Mary M. Hamlin were married in Granite City, IL.  She survives.

John was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.  After his military service he was a truck driver for Climate Express and retired after 25 years.  He enjoyed woodworking and painting and being outdoors shooting.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by 4 children: Ricky Hamlin of Lebanon, Diane (Ethan) Hubatchek of Pontoon Beach, IL, Katie Carbone of Shiloh, IL and John (Alonna Nelson) Carbone also of Shiloh; 6 grandchildren: Tessa, Alakaid, Everett, Alice, Alexander and Emmett; a brother: Peter Carbone of Pontoon Beach; and 2 sisters: Alice (Mike) Gernigin of Godfrey, IL and Jane (Gary) North of Pontoon Beach.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at 10:45 a.m. Mon. Apr. 8, 2024 at Wojstrom Funeral Home & Crematory.   Burial will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery with military honors.

Memorials may be made to Granite City ASPCA, Madison County Humane Society or Wounded Warriors.
