Janice Lynn Smutny, 69, of Granite City, IL passed away Sunday, February 18, 2024 at St. Louis University Hospital.

She was born to the late Frank and Alvina (Rosemary) (Rohr) Smutny on July 1, 1954 in East St. Louis, IL. Janice graduated from SIUE with a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work. She worked for the Illinois Department of Health and Human Services for nearly 40 years before retiring. In her free time, she enjoyed shopping, seeing plays at The Fabulous Fox Theater, and loved to collect anything relating to Disney, Mickey or Minnie Mouse. What Janice really loved was spending time with her family, friends and fur babies.

Janice is survived by many loving cousins and good friends and her furry children; Shorty, Sadie and Vivian.

The family is asking for donations to be made in Janice's name to Pound Pets Rescue.
