James Velikis, 72, of Glen Carbon passed away Monday, August 28, 2023 at his home.  He was born September 10, 1950.  He worked for Madison County and retired in 2002; he also worked weekends as The CD DJ.  He was an avid golfer and enjoyed watching movies and spending time with his friend.

He is survived by his two daughters, Jennifer Berry and her husband Brant of Grapevine, TX and Joanne Chatlos and her husband Jeff of Plano, TX; six grandchildren; Owen Butler, Art Chatlos, Abi Rendon, Ella Chatlos, Archer Berry and Emma Berry and  sisters in law, Cathy Gillespie and Marilyn Velilis.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Velikis; mother, Myra (nee: Williams) Velikis and brothers, Bob and Joe Velikis.
