Obituary

Harrison J.W. Padgett, Sr.

"Jeff"

Passed peacefully at his home surrounded by family on January 23rd, 2025 at the age of 65. He was the loving husband of 39 years to Terry Padgett; Beloved father of Nancy (Eric) Bickel, Kelly Brice, the late Harrison J.W. Padgett, Jr. "Jeffers", Nathan (Rocky Hollenback) Padgett, and Amber (Eric) Evans; Cherished grandpa of the late Jordon (Nia) Padgett, Kaitlyn Foltz, Madison Padgett, Mitchell and Hunter Bickel, Austin (Tori) Padgett, Daniel (Aulbrey) Brice, Destiny Brice, Taylor Meagher, Trenton Padgett, Bailey and Leah Evans, and Valerie Padgett; Loving great grandpa of Natalie Padgett and Sutton Brice; Dear brother of Susan (Randy) Rainwater, Tammy, Norman, and Jason Padgett, and Julie Bieser; Son of the late Harrison and Nancy Padgett (nee Williams). He was a dear uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend to many.

Jeff enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, camping, and building bonfires with his family. Anyone that knew him knew that he had an affinity for Western movies. His personality was akin to his favorite movie star, John Wayne. He was strong, loud and stubborn, had a colorful vocabulary, and made sure that everyone around him had a good time. His sense of humor was unmatched. He was ornery- if he pestered you or gave you a nickname, you knew he liked you. He and his wife had an open-door policy with all of the kids in the neighborhood who found their home to be a safe haven. His selflessness was shown in the way that he genuinely loved working hard to support his family. He was a jack of all trades and worked in every position, from a millwright to a crane operator. He spent the last 11 years working at Custom Steel with many of his close friends. Above all, he loved to spend time with his family- especially his grandkids and great grandkids. He will be missed by all who knew him.
