Gloria Charlene Harms, 88, of Mt. Morris, IL, passed away at 8:30 p.m. Fri. Dec. 1, 2023 at Allure of Pinecrest in Mt. Morris.

She was born Mar. 11, 1935 in Chicago, IL to the late Charles Edwin & Hilda Marie (Brown) Eckerd.

She and Byron Gordon Harms were married Aug. 14, 1953 in Polo, IL.  He preceded her in death Apr. 3, 2014.

Gloria had been the church secretary as well as a member at Church of the Brethren in Dixon, IL.

Survivors include a daughter: Ellen Kaye Kaman of Glen Carbon, IL; 2 sons: Dean Craig (Laurie) Harms of Rockton, IL and Eric Charles (Patricia) Harms of Dixon, IL; 9 grandchildren: Tearye Klosterman, Emylee (Roman) Key-Crowley, Scott (Kim) Klosterman, Kalyn (Jacob) Branch, Olivia (Josh) Branch, Jonathan Harms, Erica Harms, Mathew (Rachel) Harms and Haley Harms; 14 great-grandchildren: Samantha, Kyle, Nina, Lily, Eden, Anna, Evelyn, Kinley, Nevaeh, Oliver, Seraya, Lincoln, Reagan and Dax; and a sister-in-law: Nicky Eckerd of Louden, TN.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son: David Harms; and a brother: John Eckerd.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until time of services at 10:30 a.m. Sat. Jan. 13, 2024 at Dixon Church of the Brethren in Dixon, IL.
