Ernie Dale Stephens, 80, of Granite City passed away at 6 p.m. August 12, 2025 at Hallmark Nursing Home in Carlinville, IL.

He was born October 4, 1944 in Granite City to Ernie Lee and Fern (nee: Corbett) Stephens.
Ernie was an Army Veteran and a truck driver.  He was of the Pentecostal faith and he loved reading and studying the bible.  In his free time he enjoyed sitting on the porch swing and drinking coffee with his brother, Ronnie and son, Todd.

He is survived by his wife JoAnn (nee: Snell) Stephens of Granite City; two sons, Gary Beasley of Marion, IL and Marshall Stephens of West Virginia; three daughters, Laura Kay, Pamela Joyce and AnnaJo Dale Stephens all of Granite City; brother, Rick (Dottie) Stephens of Paxton, IL; sister, Connie Stephens Adams of Granite City and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, Eddie, Ronald and Robert Stephens.
