Donna Lee Fitzhugh, 91, of Granite City, IL died on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at her home.

She was born on September 26, 1932 in Granite City, IL to Truman P. Shelton and Dolly Marsha (Lee) Shelton.

Donna married J Y Fitzhugh in Granite City, IL on June 3, 1955 and he preceded her in death on October 17, 2023.

The loving mother and grandmother was a member of Central Christian Church in Granite City. She was active in the church most of her life.  In her earlier years she enjoyed sewing, quilting and going shopping with her sister, Nancy.  Donna also enjoyed painting with her cousin, Linda, in her later years. Throughout her life, Donna took care of her family and was always there when needed. She was happiest when the house was full of kids.

Donna is survived by a daughter, Marsha Smith of Granite City; 2 sons:  Bradley (Patricia) Fitzhugh of Knoxville, TN and David Fitzhugh of Granite City; 7 grandchildren:  Abraham Smith, Katie Hahs, Phillip Fitzhugh, Shelia Breidegam, Thomas Fitzhugh, Justin Lynn and Joshua Lynn and 11 great grandchildren.

Besides her husband and parents, Donna is preceded in death by 2 sons:  Phillip Fitzhugh and Tommy Fitzhugh; a brother, Robert Shelton and a sister, Nancy Whitman.

A graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, July 19, 2024 at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon, IL.  Those wishing to go in procession to the cemetery may meet at 1:00 p.m. sharp at Wojstrom Funeral Home in Granite City, IL.
