David Alexander Miller, 69, of Granite City, IL passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at Belleville Memorial Hospital in Belleville, IL due to complications from heart & kidney failure.

David was born to the late Eleanor (Goode) Miller Stafford on October 8, 1954 in New York and was raised by his maternal grandparents, Walton and Eunice (Abbott) Goode, in Halstead, KS. He earned a M.S. Psychology & Ed.S. Counseling & recently retired from the MO Dept of Health after a 30+ year career as a Forensic Mental Health Counselor. David was a proud Licensed Amateur Ham Radio Operator, an avid Telsa fan, enjoyed Renaissance Fairs, Comic-Con and loved to travel. He lived for coffee & all things technology or cosmos related. He loved his Sunday football games, particularly the Chiefs and Rams.

David is survived by siblings: Rebecca Stafford and Aram Stafford from Los Angeles, CA and newfound sisters, Laura Miller of Los Angeles, CA; Kathleen  Watkins of New York; a brother-in-law: Robert Stoppkotte; and sister-in-laws: Sandra E. Stoppkotte and Lorrie E. Stoppkotte of Granite City, IL.

David is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and sister: Melora Stafford Holley. And almost exactly one year ago, he lost his fiancé, the love of his life for the last 45+ years, Janet Lee Stoppkotte.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at Sunset Hills Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or your favorite local pet charity.
