Daniel Dalton Sr, 76, of Granite City passed away Friday, August 21, 2026.  He was born May 21, 1950 in St. Louis, MO.

Dan was a switchman for the Illinois Terminal Railroad.  In his free time he enjoyed building model cars and airplanes, reading the bible, watching movies and playing guitar.  He loved music and had it always playing in his room.  Prior to his passing, Daniel confessed his faith in Christ.  Daniel  was dearly loved and will be missed by many.

He is survived by his daughter, Kammy (Christopher) Chenevert of Maryville; son, Daniel Dalton Jr. of Godfrey; two grandchildren, Brittany and Ashton Dalton; great grandchild, Aliyah Taylor;  two sisters, Sheila A. (Gil) Hippey and Barbara F. (Donald Sr) Cooper of Glen Carbon and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Frank D. Dalton; mother, Calandina (Laratta) Hayes; grandchild, Joshua Chenevert; great grandchild Braylon Mora; two brothers, Charles Dalton and Lawrence Dalton Sr. and a sister, Rita C. Dalton.
