Daniel W. Askins, Sr, 71, of Granite City, IL died on Sunday, June 23, 2024 at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

He was born on August 16, 1952 in St. Louis, MO to George and Helen (White) Askins.

Daniel enjoyed music and he played the guitar.  He also was an outdoors person who enjoyed fishing.

Survivors include 2 sons:  Dan (Nicole) Askins of Pontoon Beach, IL and Chris Askins of Granite City, IL; 5 grandchildren:  Jordan, Braydan, Chris Jr, Makayla and Mackenzie; 2 great grandchildren:  Meredith and Lane; a brother, John (Judy) Askins of FL; 2 sisters:  Janice (Lee) Avants of Granite City, IL and Laura (Mark) Heine of Fredericktown, MO and a sister in law, Barbara Askins of MO.

Besides his parents, Daniel is preceded in death by 2 brothers:  Sonny Askins and David Askins.
