Charles E. Vaughn, 95, of Granite City passed Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at Gateway Regional Hospital. He was born July 17, 1929 in Ashburn, MO.

On July 1, 1950, he and Lenora Elvina Baker were married in Ashburn, MO.  Charles served his country in the United States Army.  He retired from Illinois American Water Company after 30 years of service.

Charles enjoyed trains, trading cars and was a master at Skip-Bo.  He was also a member of the CB Radio Club.

He is survived by 5 children: Delores Vaughn of Granite City, Anita (Ray) Emerson of Highland, IL, Mary (Mike) Brenner of O'Fallon, MO, Joyce (Jim) Conway of Collinsville, IL and Lloyd Raymond (Lynette) Vaughn of Granite City; 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sisters, Carolyn Elliott, Carrie Miller and Sharon Irwin and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Glen Vaughn and Ruth (nee: Sickles) Hiles; wife, Lenora Elvina Vaughn; a daughter, Jean Vaughn; seven brothers and seven sisters.
