Obituary

Brittany Marie (Bennett), Bayer, 29, of Troy, IL passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at her home.

She was born on November 18, 1996, in Maryville, IL to James Kevin Bennett and Kadine Marie (Rea) Long.

The loving mother and daughter whose presence brought light, strength, and joy to all who knew her. She had a heart of gold—generous, compassionate, and always ready to love with everything she had.

Strong-willed and full of life, she faced the world with determination and an unforgettable spirit. She loved fiercely, laughed wholeheartedly, and lived with a passion that touched countless lives. Her strength was remarkable, but it was the tenderness beneath that strength that made her so deeply cherished.

Above all, her greatest joy and proudest blessing was being a mother to her three beloved daughters, Briella AnnMarie, Brianna Kay, and Brealynn Renee. She loved them more than life itself. They were the center of her world, the reason behind her courage, and the brightest part of every day. Her love will remain with them always!

Though her absence leaves a space that can never be filled, her beautiful spirit will live on in the hearts of her daughters, her family, and everyone fortunate enough to have known her. Her fierce love, beautiful heart, and vibrant soul will never be forgotten.

Brittany is survived by her husband; parents and stepdad Brian Long; 3 daughters: Briella AnnMarie Long, Brianna Kay Long, and Brealynn Renee Long of Collinsville; 2 brothers: Kirk A. Bennett of Augusta, GA and Ty M. Long of Collinsville; maternal grandfather, Roby Rea of Alton, IL; paternal grandfather, James Bennett of GA; aunt & uncle, Nick and Jessica Rea of Bethalto, IL; 2 aunts: Kimberly Bennett of IN and Kelly Bennett of MS. And many extended family members.

Brittany is preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Cheryl Kay Rea and paternal grandmother, Delores Bennett.
