Biography

Claude Raymond Cassidy, 83, died at 7:09 p.m., Thurs. Nov. 6, 2008 at Christian Hospital Northeast in St. Louis, MO.

He was born Aug. 25, 1925 in Huffman, AR to the late Luke & Maude (Woodhouse) Cassidy.

The WWII U.S. Navy veteran served from 1943 to 1946 with the Pacific Fleet. He retired after 25 years of service as a boilermaker from Combustion Engineering in St. Louis and was a member of the Pontoon Baptist Church.

Survivors include: 1 daughter, Melissa Ruth Cassidy of St. Louis, 2 sons, Michael (Marilyn) Cassidy of Glen Carbon & Mark (Georgianna) Cassidy of Wood River, IL, 3 grandchildren, 1 brother, Robert Cassidy of Vero Beach, FL and 1 sister, Sue Roussel of Heber Springs, AR.

Visitation will be Tues. 11/11/08 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Wojstrom Funeral Home & Crematory, where services will be at 10:00 a.m.Wed. 11/12/08 with Pastor Harold Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery with military honors.
