James A. Day, 77, of Granite City, IL, died Sunday June 17, 2012, at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City, IL.
He was born November 22, 1934 in Harrisburg, IL to the late William Hobart and Nell (Roberts) Day.
James worked at Granite City Steel as a pipe fitter and retired after over 25 years. He also served in the United States Army and was a member of The Granite City VFW and the Collinsville Recreation Club.
He is survived by his sister and brother –in-law, Donna & Ben Ward, of Granite City and a brother, William Ralph Day of Avon Park, FL.
He is preceded in death by both parents, William Hobart and Nell (Roberts) Day.
Per his wishes he was cremated and the family will have a private memorial service.
