Melvin Allen Floyed Jr., 68, of South Roxana, IL, died at 7:30 p.m. Thurs. June 7, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born Nov. 29, 1943 in Detroit, MI to the late Evelyn (Edwards) Floyed Stokes and Melvin Allen Floyed Sr.

On June 20, 1993, he and Glenda M. Lindsey were married in Granite City, IL. She survives in South Roxana.

The U.S. Army veteran retired in 2009 from Topos Surveying & Engineering.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by: 4 daughters, Crystal (Kenneth) Morgan of Paris, TN, Stacy Vinson of Cottage Hills, IL, Melissa Roberts of Brighton, IL and Melinda, 2 sons, Vincent Allen (Cathy) Floyed Sr. and Kelly Floyed of South Roxana, 11 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters, Shirley “Maxine”, Leona, Randall, Joann, Dennis and Dwight.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 sons, Carry Lynn Floyed and Henry Floyed.
