Biography

Robert Wayne Niehaus, 50, of Sesser, IL, formerly of Granite City, IL, died at 12:47 p.m. Wed. June 6, 2012 at St. Mary’s Good Samarian Hospital in Mt. Vernon, IL.

He was born Feb. 5, 1962, to the late Richard & Zella (Holman) Niehaus Sr.

He was a 1981 graduate from Madison High School.

Despite being quadriplegic from a car accident since age 17, Robert loved to live life and was an avid hunter, fisherman and all around outdoorsman.

Survivors include: Blake Boswell of Sesser, who he loved like his own son, 3 sisters, Laura (Charlie Aaron) Peach of Granite City, Cynthia “Cindy” (Doc) Karnes of Sesser and Rhonda (Mike) Skalak of Joliet, IL, 3 brothers, Richard (Rene) Jr., Jeffrey (Mickey) and Christopher Niehaus, all of Granite City, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and lots of friends.

He was preceded in death by: a niece Jamie Heady, 2 brothers-in-law, James Heady and Robert Peach.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until time of services at 7:00 p.m. Fri. June 8, 2012 at Wojstrom Funeral Home & crematory with Pastor Harold Hughes officiating.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or United Cerebral Palsy Foundation.
