Biography

Carrie Janet Park Scott, 75, of Mitchell, IL died at 3:05 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at Gateway Regional Medical Center in Granite City.

She was born January 26, 1935 in Arkansas.

On September 7, 1997, she and David W. Scott were married in Clayton, MO. He survives in Mitchell.

Carrie worked for 27 years at Cass Bank & Trust in St. Louis before retirement. She was a member of Central Baptist Church and was a movie buff, enjoying crocheting and being with her family. Her husband traced her lineage to President John Adams and further back to three of the crew from the Mayflower landing in 1620 as well as King Edward III of England, back through the English Kings to the Scottish Kings and Irish Kings all the way back to Adam & Eve through biblical genealogy.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by: a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy & Mark Foster of Granite City, 2 sons, Wayne Hunt and Glen Hutter of Granite City, 6 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, a brother, Ernie Lee Park and nieces, nephews and other family.

Preceding her in death were: parents, Harold Henry Park & Hattie Junie Mae (Antell), a daughter, Linda June Hunt and a son, Gary Hunt.
