He is survived by his wife Margarita Castaneda; mother, Dolores Angel; five daughters, Guadalupe, Margarita, Francisca, Norma Lourdes Alvarez; two sons, Jose Santos and Pedro Alvarez; one brother, Dionicio Alvarez and two sisters, Asuncion and Paula Alvarez.
He is preceded in death by his father Pedro Alvarez.
Burial will be in Cheran, Michoachan, Mexico.
