Biography

Ollie Geneva Teachenor, 92, passed away at 11:42 a.m. Mon. Feb. 1, 2010 at Fountain View Manor Memory Care Center in Granite City, IL.

She was born Dec. 12, 1917 in Kennett, MO to the late Fred & LuElla (Bostic) Pollard Sr.

On July 8, 1944, she and Jack H. Teachenor were united in marriage in Piggott, AR. He preceded her in death Sept. 14, 2002.

Mrs. Teachenor worked various jobs throughout her lifetime and was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She was a member of West 22nd St. Baptist Church in Granite City and loved to quilt and sew as well as play guitar when she was younger and sing in church. She also was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed doing puzzles with her husband.

Survivors include: a daughter and son-in-law, Norine F. & David G. Noel Sr., a son and daughter-in-law, Ronald H. & Sandra K. Teachenor all of Granite City, 3 grandchildren, David Noel Jr., Sheila Heaton and Donetta Brooks, 8 great-grandchildren, Blake, Nicholas, Brenden, Matthew, Devon, Destiny, Dalton & Dustin and 4 step-great-grandchildren, Cheldon, Ashley, Jayme & Katelyn and a brother, Fred Pollard Jr. of Poplar Bluff, MO.

In addition to her parents and husband of 60 years, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jeanetta Teachnor in 2009 and 5 sisters, Alphie Harper, Rachel Bridges, Fredia Imola Kelsey, Avis Atherton and Jewell Pollard

Visitation will be Wed. 2/3/10 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Wojstrom Funeral Home & Crematory from, where services will be Thurs. 2/4/10 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Edwardsville.

Memorials may be made to the West 22nd St. Baptist Church.
