Biography

Eleanor A. Bickell, 81, died Jan. 27, 2010 at Edwardsville Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

She was born Sept. 13, 1928 in Granite City, IL to the late Adella (Meyer) & William Grabner.

She married Rollin R. Bickell Sr. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. Bickell was a homemaker and also worked at sporting events and retired from the Checkerdome.

She is survived by: her children, James (Carla) Dycus of Edwardsville, Rhonda Dycus of St. Louis, Rolla A. (Gary) Goff of Edwardsville and Rollin Bickell Jr. of Granite City, a step-daughter, Diana Sparks of Edwardsville, 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, a sister, Shirley Barton of Mitchell, nieces and nephews, Shirley (David) Byrum of Mitchell and Jack (Connie) Jones of St. James, MO.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by: a daughter, Lana McLauglin.

Visitation will be Fri. Jan. 29, 2010 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Wojstrom Funeral Home & Crematory, where services will be at 10:00 a.m. Sat. (1/30) with Pastor Mike Davis officiating. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery - Nameoki.

Memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
